Rape on the Oklawaha River (in Florida) (and the rape (in a sense (not of a person)) was by the US Army Corps of Engineers)

14th episode of Review of back issues of Reader's Digest magazine. I'm starting with January, 1970 and working forward from there. There's lots of interesting content in these older issues of RD. This program reviews that content and I share my thoughts and opinions.

Quote on page 55 from former US Congressman Ben Jensen (Republican, Iowa) (who also shot during and survived the 1954 United States Capitol shooting), "I would not vote two cents for this project." (Congressman Jensen was referring to the US Army Corps of Engineers' Florida barge canal boondoggle project.)

The foregoing quote is from the Reader's Digest article, "Rape of the Oklawaha: A case study of how we of conservative-minded America are letting our countryside be nibbled to death," written by James Nathan Miller.
